The Airlock
Donning the clunky spacesuit, you prepare to endure the vast emptiness of space with a determined expression. You open the airlock, ready to embrace the universe in its fullest. You float through the impending vacuum with outstretched arms. For a moment, you float completely freely. Granted, you’ve been in zero g for several days, but only now do you feel completely liberated. No walls or barriers to hold you back. You are truly adrift. As in, drifting away from the station! You begin to panic as the reality of the situation sets in. You begin to flail your arms, desperate to grab onto something to pull you back in. No luck. All you manage to do is get yourself spinning and twisting out of control. Think think think. What can you do to stop yourself and get back to the station? Where were the protocols on how to use this thing? After a little bit of fumbling around the suit, you make out a couple different nozzles on the back, like miniature rocket engines. They must be for orientation control! Maybe there’s a way to propel yourself back! You feel around some more, and find something holstered to your hip. You feel it a bit. It’s a small rectangular object. You can make out a few bumps on it. A remote of some kind? Well, you can only hope so. You don’t have many other options right now. You try to grab ahold of it, but you realize that the suit’s gloves are too big on you! You can hardly wiggle your fingers, let alone have enough dexterity to pull it out. You’re just going to have to do it blind. Only... what button should you press?
